Brasserie Cassis - Plainview

During my visit, it coincided with restaurant week, making it the perfect opportunity to indulge in a three-course meal. The salad was delightful, featuring fresh greens, red beets, a vibrant vinaigrette, Gorgonzola cheese, and candied walnuts. For my main course, I chose the hanger steak, which was tender and flavorful, accompanied by scalloped potatoes and sautéed spinach. They didn’t let me substitute out the potatoes, but I understood it was a special event. For dessert, I enjoyed the profiterole topped with vanilla gelato and chocolate sauce, which was satisfying. My friend ordered the apple cake, which was exceptional. Although we were only given one piece of bread each, it was fantastic, served with rich, creamy butter. Overall, I found the food to be excellent and the service efficient. I would definitely like to return and explore their regular menu.

How is it possible that I just discovered this place, which has been around for over a decade? The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance, reminiscent of Brasserie Les Halles in Manhattan, and offers fantastic bistro-style dishes along with excellent service. The escargot was delightful, prepared with butter and pesto—make sure to use the bread to soak up the sauce. The steak tartare was a generous portion with a wonderfully smooth texture. The goat cheese salad was truly unique. The beef bourguignon, sole meunière, and hamburger were all excellent choices as well. The fries could use a bit more seasoning, but they were still tasty. Be sure to ask the bartender for a Time Traveler cocktail; you won’t be disappointed. The facilities were clean, and there is a wheelchair accessible entrance. We will definitely be returning. For a Long Island restaurant, I give it a full 5 stars!

The food was delicious, the service excellent, and while the portions were small, they packed a punch in flavor. The decor is clean and beautiful. Edith Piaf would have loved dining here!

I was at Cassis last night with my daughter and had a wonderful time. The manager John makes sure you are comfortable and satisfied with the place and the service. The food is excellent along with the ambiance. They had a prime rib special which was excellent. There is also an excellent choice of wines. I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. I intend to return in the future they are planning on having live entertainment.
