The woman was unpleasant and gossiped about customers while they placed their orders. It was very off-putting.
I would not recommend this restaurant as they often forget to close the lid on takeout orders, resulting in spills of soy sauce that ruin your meal. The service was a waste of both my time and money, and I will not be returning. I suggest avoiding this place unless you don't mind paying extra for a cleaning service to avoid eating off the floor. Keep up the good work.
Ordered the general Tso chicken, it was not edible. I couldn't even chew it. was very scary and when I tried to swallow, it took me every time. this is more common with Chinese restaurants in the style of “except”. eating is good, but that was not edible. I rarely eat more Chinese food because the quality has been underpar since kovid.
I loved the old Hong Kong Star from many years ago but since the original owners sold, I no longer had and interest. Recently, I decided to give the new owner the benefit of the doubt so I placed an order. They are currently doing take-out only. When I walked into the establishment I noticed that they were in the process of sweeping the floor but left the pile of dirt to do other duties. Since the dining room is not open, there is not much to discuss concerning the overall cleanliness. I ordered PuPu Platter C and a combo lunch of Hot and Spicey Chicken with Fried Rice and Wonton Soup. The first thing I noted was that the broth in the soup had a strange aftertaste that had nothing to do with the umami flavor of chicken broth and Chinese seasonings and the wonton dumplings were gummy. I am not a fan of crab Rangoon to begin with but these were so over cooked and inedible that I hesitated to eat the other components. The chicken fingers were good but I did not care for the preparation of the fantail shrimp. The shrimp were also overdone. The fried rice was stale tasting and missed many components that are generally included in a freshly made fried rice dish. The hot and spicey chicken had just the right amount of heat and plenty of dried pepper. The disappointment in the dish had to do with the overabundance of green peppers that had been par boiled before being included in the dish. The peppers were over cooked and almost slimy. There were too many disappointments in this order so I will not return.
