Placitas Cafe

I am not sure what the previous reviewer was talking about, but my experience at Placitas Cafe was very pleasant. I decided to stop in after returning from the Sunport and had the Placitas omelette with red chili on top. The dish was cooked perfectly and the red chili added a great flavor. The side of ham was also delicious, and they had a good selection of coffee. I look forward to returning with my wife next time to try the lunch menu. The restaurant is cozy and well-furnished, so I recommend stopping by and trying it for yourself.

I'm not sure what others are eating to give this place 5 stars, but it definitely can't be the food here. The red chile sauce doesn't taste right and seems like it's not prepared correctly. I ordered a burrito and it was only half the size of what you'd get elsewhere for double the price. The eggs were overcooked, the carrots were burned, and there was hardly any seasoning. Their competitor, Sabrositos, makes a much better burrito. I also ordered monkey cakes which were way overpriced at almost $10 for just three small cakes. They were okay, but the bananas on top looked like they had been sitting out overnight. Overall, the food here is subpar with high prices and lacks flavor. It seems like they rely on attracting certain customers to stay in business.

Weird but funny owners. One of my favorite weekend brunch spots. Great decor and vibes. Food is above average. Outdoor seating is nice.

Food was average, pricing was high, service was terrible. I went for a late lunch, wasn’t busy. I didn’t get a visit from the waitress for a drink refill and didn’t see her at all until I asked for my check. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

The food, drinks, environment, service, and overall experience at this cafe are fantastic! It is a popular spot for both locals and visitors alike. I highly recommend trying the Howie burger with a side of Macaroni tarts for lunch or dinner, and for breakfast, I suggest trying Ray's Huevos. If you're looking for a new place with a casual atmosphere, definitely stop by and enjoy!
