The Original Pancake House - Placentia

The food was delightful! The service was friendly, but it was slow. I was left at my table for over 10 minutes after receiving my check without anyone coming to take care of my payment. I eventually had to get up and find someone to help me pay my bill. I almost considered leaving without paying simply because I wanted to move on, and no one seemed to notice. I understand they might be short-staffed, but if I have to deal with the same delays on my next visit, I might have to rule out returning to this location. Timely service is incredibly important.

We arrived at the restaurant on Saturday morning at around 10:45 AM and were promptly seated with no wait, despite the place being packed! Our waitress was attentive, as were all the other staff members working there. The restaurant operates like a well-oiled machine—absolutely impressive! The food was served quickly and was fantastic! Wow, we’re so incredibly full!

The food was acceptable, and the service met expectations. However, I rated it one star because of serious hygiene issues. I noticed staff cleaning chairs and windows while wearing gloves and using cleaning rags, but then they handled customers' glasses without changing their gloves, which could result in cross-contamination. This is a significant health risk for diners. I decided against drinking from those glasses and set them aside. Management really needs to tackle this problem and consider enrolling in a food safety training course.

If you're looking for an amazing breakfast spot, this is the place to be! Don't waste your money elsewhere; just come here ready to eat, as the portions are generous. The pancakes are out of this world, and we tried a variety of other dishes with the group, all of which were delightful. The service is excellent—absolutely deserves five stars!

The food was good, but the restaurant really needs a makeover; it feels very outdated. The floors are clean, but there are broken tiles. The initial service from the waitress was great, but it took an hour to get a coffee refill, which is definitely not acceptable.
