While I wouldn't say the food was extraordinary, it was certainly good enough for me to consider returning. Overall, it was much better than any other restaurants on Fifth or Forbes. I highly recommend checking it out if you get the chance.
This restaurant is a fantastic place for dinner. The staff were extremely accommodating, particularly the gentleman at the bar. The baked Brie appetizer was a delightful surprise, perfectly balancing sweet and savory flavors.
The food varies from mediocre to decent, good, and even very good. It's a bit on the pricey side, but the atmosphere and service are excellent.
Try the truffle burger, the bacon marmalade makes it amazing
I don't get it. Sure, the place in the warmer months has a nice atmosphere if you're seated outside. But every other aspect of this restaurant is just awful. First off, the ordering process is just asinine. Having only one or two people taking orders at the busiest times is just dumb. It ensures there's a needless 30 minute wait. Even more pathetic, the line ends up blocking the front doors and no employee of the The Porch would even think of addressing that issue. Now comes the mediocre food. And that's being generous. Take a look at the $6.00 Caesar Salad in the picture below. It's the size of a Postage Stamp. I used a quarter so you can see the portion. Ridiculous. Next, I ordered a Chicken BLT sandwich. What I got is raw bacon, rubbery chicken and last year's tomatoes that they somehow reanimated. Inedible. The Margherita Pizza was essentially tasteless, which is an accomplishment on its own. Too bad you can't bring your own food and sit on the porch it would be a much better experience.
