Well, what they had. Before we ordered, we were told that they were from a number of things. Angry, but okay. We ordered, and then the server came back to tell us they did not offer the salad we ordered. This was problematic because the person she had ordered already had nutrition restrictions and very limited options. She chose another salad, ordered Sans-Croutons. It came with crumbs and she had to send it back. The rest of our meals were delivered a few minutes later. The fish sandwich was good, not the huge fish fillet you usually see this time of the year, but it was delicious. The shepherd cake was fine, it was barely served warm and when we reached it, it was cold. The service was a mix. We started strong, except the crumbs. A few drinks and our meals later we were in conversation. She asked if we wanted another round and we went back. Then she immediately asked if we were ready for the controls. Usually I would appreciate this kind of efficiency, but it was presented in an icy way if you don't want another, you need to go somehow. It just felt abrupt for some reason. In fact, we still had drinks on the table and were not really sure if we wanted another round, then we just didn't want it. We were fed and took the controls, paid, and then another conversation came, that ended for a while. Many time (like two hours a lot) went by and finally came by and asked if we wanted some water. I think we've all had a different round if she'd circle around earlier. Partly our fault for payment, but it was a really long time that we sat there without service. All in all, I would try again, but maybe sit at the bar. We sat there for a while, but the hard benches were not really my jam, although I know that all the chairs had back.
This place has undergone some changes over the years. This was one of my favorite places for Irish food pre-pandemic. You haven't survived Covid, but now new owners have revived this hidden jewel. I always enjoy the food, it never sleeps away, but there are some stables I definitely recommend. Take the devil eggs! You're addicted and a must! Their cocktails are always firm and turn for the season. Your chips are also addicted. If I can get curly fries as an adult, I'm always happy. Come for the hole in the wall Vibes, good service, cold beer and a kitchen that is actually open on Monday!
Great food, prices are reasonable and drinks are delicious! Recommended to stop here safely!
Sophia has developed an amazing and passionate team. It shows in the service they offer. Great Irish pub.
Newly reopened under new management, we dropped in to check things out. It's still a wonderfully vintage Irish Pub tucked away in a residential neighborhood. They still have great pub favorites, such as fish and chips, Shepard's Pie, and Burgers. The beer list includes Guinness on tap, but also several local craft beers. The booths are absolutely charming, although small. It's a great place for good conversation. The coolest friends hang out here, I'm still recommending it.
