However, at lunchtime it is more a cafeteria with a large buffet to choose from, fish and meat dishes, quickly served and incredibly fresh and cheap. Pity we could not return at night, I think it then becomes a really good exclusive fish place.
We arrived in Pistoia for our first ever visit and found Rosso Veneziano specializing in sea food. What an understatement. They have a creative menu with a wide range of unique dishes. We loved everything we tried. The staff is very friendly, professional, and helpful. When we got to dessert we wanted a little more water, but they only have big bottles so we decided to pass. However, the waiter came back and filled our water glasses one more time. This is a special place for seafood lovers that should not be missed.
Food was so good. We opted for one pasta and one entree each all with some kind of seafood. The tuna crusted pistachio was delicious. The white wine they recommended was also on point. By the way, they didn 't really speak a lot of English and I was fortunate to dine with someone who spoke Italian so it made communication much easier. The staff did try to explain some of the dishes in English as best they could. It 's truly a local neighborhood restaurant that I wish was in my neighborhood so I can go back again and again. (It was so local that everyone else in restaurant kept glancing our way since we were obviously not Italian. LOL)
The best raw fish ever! Super fresh and tasty. Pasta is good too and home made cakes. Went with the chef suggestion for wine a vermentino from Lunigiana and it was fresh and ceispy. Lovely wine. Excellent service. Highly recommended
