Stunning hotel and setting. Am strongly recommending this hotel to friends also planning a trip near there and I would come back in a heartbeat. Only negatives are We didn't love the food, prefered Bomfin up the road. It was fine just not outstanding. We had booked a wine lover experience package which included a picnic and port tasting at quinta da roeda. When we went there they had no idea of our booking. We sat for an hour and a half in the sun regularly checking in with them as they gave everybody else picnics and they all left. When we finally got the picnic we then had the same struggle to convince them of the port tasting we were meant to receive. Eventually this was resolved but it ended up being a 4 hour ordeal rather then an enjoyable prebooked activity. I tried to tell reception of this but they didn't want to know. Similarly at the wine shop they didn't know about the discount the experience promised. So I would go again but not bother with the experience. We also had a fairly negative experience at breakfast. Myself and my partner arrived and were seated, we asked to sit outside and were told there was no space. There were empty tables with dirty plates and I pointed and asked if we could wait as were not in a rush and was told no sorry they're taken and we were sat inside the only people then inside. The 2 couples then immediately after us were then sat outside, I even heard the first one say oh no we can wait for it to be cleared and they cleared it for them. After sitting inside at our table waiting to be asked about hot drinks, we watched the people outside then all be asked and hot drinks come and we still hadn't been asked. My partner noted a coffee machine and after now waiting 10 mins and assuming no ones coming we went and made pod coffees. The sizes of the mugs were too small and the coffee was filled all the way to the brim. A waiter then stopped me as I had slowly carried this to the table and shouted at me that no we bring the hot drinks to the table and I might make a mess and he then took the drink off the table to the kitchen and did then say he would bring coffee. Annoyed and still without caffeine but under the impression it was not coming we went and got breakfast. My friends then arrived and were seated outside, ordered coffee and receive it and we still hadn't. I asked the waiter if it was coming and he said yes. Once we had finished breakfast and were about to leave nearly an hour now from arriving he did then bring some coffee. It was pretty rubbish service and I didn't expect to be shouted at and have my coffee confiscated. With some tweaks to service this hotel would be amazing, those 2 incidents left a slightly sour taste in my mouth unfortunately. Hotel highlights: Great view, Romantic

We’ve just spent 4 days with our two teenage daughters in this outstanding Hotel ,where the staff hospitality and the gorgeous facilities made our stay unforgettable. We’ll be back in the future for sure. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
