Chariots Horses - Pine Mountain

Very special place My wife and I always wanted to visit Callaway Gardens for Christmas, we finally did. We used trip advisor to look for a nice restaurant and decided to try Carriage and Horses. We had one of the best dining experiences ever. The owner, Dahger, has a very loyal following and typically does large parties for events. On other nights, like the Monday we ate there, he limits the number of folks dining by accepting reservations only. Do not be fooled if there are very few cars there. He does this on purpose to give you top notch food and service. He suggested the house special, a pork shank cooked for 5 hours. My wife ordered it. First came a house salad with the suggested sesame ginger homemade dressing. So fresh and light. The meat of the shank was seasoned perfectly, fall off the bone fork tender. It was accompanied by fresh made mashed potatoes, green beans, and carrots. I ordered the filet. It was cooked perfectly with a slight crust on the outside and buttery meat inside. Same accompaniments. It was just incredible This shank was $30. The filet was $35. That is not a misprint. We each had a glass of wine and Dahger gave us a chocolate mousse dessert in the house. He took out photos, stopped by regularly to make sure everything was great. If you eat one nice meal in the Pine Mountain area, make sure this is it.

This is the BEST restaurant around pine mountain..it's clean..anx the owner dagher and his mom run a tight ship..the food is super and the Service is great ..Great Staffel..keep up the good work I give you a 110 rating

A little disappointed overall based on TA reviews. Lobster was ok but expensive. As was ribeye. Sides not good though or warm carrots and green beans no other choices and mine were cool. Like in cold not like in “Joe Cool,” Side salad was basically some greens only no tomatoes or anything else other than some thinly sliced carrots. Not good at all!Several other reviewers have commented on the “must have reservations.” The place is rather large with lots of tables and was maybe a third full including most of those with one large maybe 25 in a tour group. Absence that group were maybe six or so other customers. We made reservations but were not needed at least this night! Just wonder had we “showed up” if we would have been seated! Friendly staff and the owner came by was temped to ask about the reservations but didn’t! Just curious! Recommend with reservations Yep a bad pun! I recommend with reservations yep a bad pun!

This restaurant is reservations only. Do Not judge the outside for what you fine inside is beautiful and relaxing place that has amazing food and service. The owner is super nice and is the staff. As for the food. We could not have ask for a better dinner it was one of the best dinners I’ve had in a long time.

My family had an excellent experience here. The staff was amazing and the food was delicious! Will definitely be visiting here again! Kid-friendliness: They go out of their way to make your entire family enjoy this fine dining experience.
