We were camping nearby at Fall Creek Falls, and my son saw a picture of their wings in an ad in the lobby and really wanted to change from Camp food: it was about 30 minutes away through winding roads, but definitely worth it. Very local. So glad not to be eating at a chain restaurant. The food is excellent and the service was friendly. Did not disappoint.
Charming little spot with good barbecue. The brisket was tender and juicy, while the fried okra was perfectly cooked and not greasy at all. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in town.
Our favorite dish was definitely the jalapeño ranch chicken, closely followed by the brisket. Unfortunately, the nachos were a bit underwhelming compared to the other two. The brisket had such a great flavor that it didn't even need sauce, although I did add some because it was a touch dry. Their standard BBQ sauce is fantastic, but I preferred the vinaigrette with the brisket, as the vinegar helped cut through the richness of the meat. The mustard sauce was interesting but was my least favorite of the three. The decor is much nicer than last year, and I noticed they now have a bar area, which wasn’t there before. Next time I visit, I'll be sure to take pictures of the decor and bar. The food was pretty delicious, and the portion sizes are generous. We started with the BBQ fries, which were awesome—loaded with pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and a creamy white sauce. The fries were crispy, too. However, the BBQ chicken sandwich and the pulled pork were slightly dry, but the fat helped add some moisture. The buns were sweet and had a delightful buttery grilled flavor. The BBQ sauce was intriguing, and while the sides were fairly standard, they complemented the meal. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience, and we will likely return!
WOW!! On our way back from Heritage Village and the Highway 127 Yard Sale, we stopped at Morgan Brothers BBQ, located at the Rock House just north of Pikeville and before Heritage Village, for a late lunch. The food was outstanding! The service was excellent, with Tina ensuring we always had their delicious sweet tea refilled. The atmosphere was cozy, clean, and well-organized. Everyone was friendly and eager to help. We had a wonderful experience with fantastic food at very reasonable prices. I enjoyed the Philly Cheesesteak Fries, which combined two of my favorite foods perfectly. The meat was tender and cooked just right, with a great mix of meat, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese. Chris tried the Wild Game Burger with fries and said it was delicious. I highly recommend this place, especially for those who appreciate great food!
