John's Grill - Pikeville

The bar area is good and the friendly bartender. The 2 tv’s are stuck on screensavers mode until the owner changes them to some random CSI or game show on a Friday night. The assortment of beer had a good selection.The food and service at John’s Grill is terrible and lacking to say the least! We have been there a total of 3 times over a 3 month period…the 1st time the fries were cold and asked to be remade with pushback from the high schoolers working the grill. The 2nd time our food took over 30 min to get with only 3 other diners. The 3rd and last time we ordered burgers and fries again… 20 minutes later, I went to check to see if it was complete and was told it was still being made with again, only four other diners eating their food. 35 minutes went by, and I went to the highschoolers manning the kitchen, and was told that my food was taken out to the bar area and they called my name which someone else apparently claimed. There were five people total in the bar area, and I was sitting at the bar and did not hear my name only saw 2 to go containers brought out in a plastic bag. I also raised concern to the bartender, and she approached the people that received said food, and they claimed they only had hotdogs. I proceeded back to the kitchen where I received a full refund for the food minus the 20% tip that I gave.Do better first brew!I forgot to add…there was a couple behind me at the food counter and the same thing happened to them.

Being attached to a taproom is a plus! Also being open on a Sunday is a mega plus.I don’t get to come visit Wayne county that often but normally it’s on a Sunday. All the other interesting dine-ins are closed. Now I know where I can go when I come visit family/friends

Was heading home from emerald isle needed tk stop for food it was the first place that popped up in google so we went lol ... I had the mushroom burger and chili cheese fries. Absolutely amazing and very friendly

Great small town grill with a great atmosphere! Try one of the many smash burgers, I think you will be very pleased.
