Feisty Tomato Cafe - Picture Butte

I ordered takeout with my coworkers for lunch and was expecting more based on the great reviews. The portion size was generous for the price, but the food quality was not great. The fish was coated in a heavy batter that was tasty but too thick. The fries were limp, soggy, and undercooked, but had delicious seasoning. One of my coworkers found a hair in their shepherd's pie. I hope the restaurant was just having an off day and I will give them another chance in a month or so.

I recently dined at this newly opened restaurant and was impressed with the quality of the food, especially considering the prices. Most dishes are priced under $10 and are generous in portion size. The homemade fries were a standout, and my husband particularly enjoyed the omelette and "deep fried" potatoes. I tried the $5 chili and found it to be absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and the service was friendly. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend a visit.
