The Lobster Bar Restaurant - Pictou

We were able to seat ourselves on their deck overlooking the waterA great locationWe ordered a clubhouse and poutine to share.

Only restaurant open in town at 8pm and were rushed to have the kids out by 9pm. Food was adequate but nothing special. Ordered takeout fries and coleslaw after our meal which were very overpriced.The quantity of coleslaw served with fish dinners is negligible. it's gone with one mouthful.

My Wife and I visited here in late September 2016. It was a quiet evening with only one server and a few occupied tables.The server was very friendly and pleasant. The menu was limited and I would rank this establishment moreso as a pub than a full-on restaurant.That said, the food was hot and fresh and the beverages were cold. We had chicken quesadillas and beef sliders. The quesadillas were freshly made and quite tasty. The sliders were also freshly made (not a frozen pattie). The side of potato chips was underwhelming and homemade fries or another handmade potato element would have been better.The prices were very reasonable and, overall, a very pleasant evening.

Very slow service, 3 tables came in behind us and were served ahead of us. Reason? Fryer room. Three other tables all had food that required fryer space. Think they forgot our order, not even an apology......and when food arrived, it was cold!

My husband had never had lobster before so we did an online search and this place came up. The website we had looked at said it closed at 9:00 PM, so we thought we had lots of time when we arrived at 7:00 PM. We asked to sit outside on the patio, which faced the water. Soon after, a very nice waitress came to our table to take our orders. We told her that we were there for the lobster meal and it was my husband's first time trying it. She took our orders and when she came back with our drinks and she asked if we were in a hurry, as they were just making up the lobster at the time and it would be about a 25 minute wait. I told her that we weren't in a hurry and asked if it was ok for them as they closed at 9:00. She then advised us that they actually closed at 8:00, but it would be no problem to get our order in. She walked my husband and I through the process of how to eat a lobster and at no time during our meal did she make us feel rushed. As we were sitting on the patio, people could see us, and they were stopping in to eat! By the time we left, most of the tables on the patio were full, and people were placing orders even though the place was supposed to close in 15 minutes. The staff never once told anyone that the were supposed to be closed in a short time and made everyone feel welcome. The lobster meal itself was great, with good portions of sides. The decor is homey and clean. Thanks for a great time!
