Mrs MacGregor's Shortbreads - Pictou

We brought shortbread home to Scotland...that's how good it was!! We only tasted the original and maple so cannot comment on the rest, but they were both amazingly good. Tempted to say the nicest we've had but may offend some family members ;)

This business sell wonderful buttery shortbread cookies. I have tried both plain and maple flavored cookies and loved them. They are all home made. The shop is located on the main street business area in Pictou and easy to find.

Every time we are in Nova Scotia, we try to stop and buy some fresh shortbread from Mrs. MacGregor's shortbread shop. This time around we also decided to try the oat cakes. Both the oat cakes and the shortbread are really, really good. We even order from the states to have them delivered. Be sure to stop in and give these a try if you are near Pictou. Pictou itself is well worth your time too.

While nationally famous for her short breads, the best cake I have ever eaten! I always thought a cake was a cake, but here they are a work of art! the best tasting possible

We stop at Mrs. McGregor's whenever we are near Pictou when traveling all the way from Indiana. We make regular excursions to Nova Scotia and have added this place on our list of must see towns and must visit food establishments. Their small, delicate, and buttery cookies are a highlight of our travels and we love to keep them in our small RV for dessert. We are partial to the regular flavor but like the maple and whiskey ones as well. The owners are super friendly and nice and they sell online too. Wonderful gifts for lovers of good, old-fashioned shortbread. Highly recommend!
