Kingsmen Pub & Grill - Pickering

We were staying nearby, so it was convenient to find a few restaurants for quick takeout. I decided to try the honey garlic chicken wings from this place.

The restaurant is now under new management and has seen some improvements since last year, but there are still a few things that need fixing. Overall, I really enjoy this place and highly recommend it.

The restaurant is not too bad, although it often appears dark and dingy. However, the wings are good and the beer is usually cold. Many regulars can be found hanging out at the bar.

This place is the old Bear and Firkin. Which moved to Liverpool and Kingston Rd. Next it became Pie. An Italian high-end Pizza restaurant. Now it's Kingsmen Pub & Grill. Very nicely renovated to a true Pub style restaurant. It's got lots of T.V.'s everywhere to watch any sport your heart desires. The food was good Pub food. Prices were reasonable. I think they have entertainment on Thursday's. I would definitely go back.

Went with a group of 8 from my beer tasting club. We travel around to different pubs looking for local craft beer & good wings. Recently opened, so we tried it out for this month's gathering.First Disappointment was no draught beer! Something about their fridge being broken. We were stuck with bottled beer, then waited for glasses for 5 mins after the bottles were served.Chicken wings were below average and mediocre at best.There was only one wait staff for the whole restaurant and it was painful waiting for her. Clearing the table after we ate was far too long. Trying to enjoy conversation with piles of bared chicken wings in front of us was unnecessary.Our server had no clue about their menu, was asked to explain one of their featured wing flavours she knew nothing about it. Needs training! Beers arrived at the table open with her hand wrapped around the top of the bottle, where we were expectedd to drink from because she didn't offer or bring any glasses.There was a live performer on Wednesday nights, but I don't expect this until maybe 9pm in a restaurant. He was in fact a very good singer playing lots of oldies that suited our crowd but not when we went their for beer & conversation.The menu looked very good but we won't be back. Too many other sure things in the area.
