Ricardos Italiano - PIALBA

Last Saturday the 29th we picked this restaurant from the www because of past reviews. We (party of 3) all agreed that the restaurant was a nice place, that the maitre de was generous and friendly, but...and a very big but, all our mains where over-salted. We could only eat about 5 mouthfuls and at first the flavour was fantastic and as expected from what we saw was a professional outfit. After that, we all looked at each and said 'its very salty'. Strange, given that the meals were all different. I had the Beef Cheeks, my partner had the Chilli Prawn Spag and our guest had the Blue Cheese Risotto. We all could not finish our meals, which was a shame really as we all agreed that apart from the heavy salting the food tasted ok. In the end, the taste of salt was the deal breaker. We left without saying anything, but really in hindsight we should have. Perhaps they should look back through previous reviews to find the 'salty' one and figure out who in the kitchen is throwing that extra handful onto everyones plate. Conversely, the Truffle Stuffed Mushrooms was excellent (a different kitchen staff prepared this one?).Will try this one again in the future, hopefully the 'salter' will have had words spoken to.

A varied menu at the right price and the quality of the dishes would hold their own in Melbourne against similar offerings. Would recommend for families wanting a quick, tasty and reasonably priced night out.

We have been there several times now and the food and service has always been excellent. The owner takes a very personal interest in the service and kitchen. Can definitely recommend.

Eaten at Ricardo's about half a dozen times and the food has always been delicious! Lots of variety on the menu, fantastic service and a warm, friendly ambience. Highly recommended by all the family, young and old.

We opted to try some takeaway last night I opted for the pumpkin gnocchi which I omitted the chicken and had with mushrooms and I must say it's the best gnocchi I have had in a long time. Full of flavour with a nice balance. The carnivor pizza was not as amazing the base was very sloppy maybe because of all the meat however the flavour was nice just a bit too oily to enjoy.Tiramisu had lovely flavour and even came with real cream would have been nicer to have more sponge and less cream.Overall very delicious will definitely dine here again.
