Angry Crab Shack - Phoenix

I don't even know where to start with my experience as a first-timer—it was absolutely delicious! The bartender and server, Katie M, was amazing. I mentioned it was my first time there, and she helped me choose from the menu. Then there was Will, the maintenance guy, who also provided great conversation and made my visit even better. I'll definitely be returning. 5 stars!

In the mood for seafood so tried close to home Angry Crab. Fun interior where everyone can mark on the walls, family-friendly, reasonably priced varied menu. Cute descriptions for seafood sauces, etc. (judge for yourself on pic) from ridiculously hot to Me no likey-spicey . Crowded, so we advise you go early. Loud atmosphere but friendly ambiance. Slow service so plan toallow for time to visit when you go. Seafood choices were okay, not spectacular, but as it was modestly priced casual, noissue for us. Probably won 't return anytime soon.

The crab cake was dark, almost black, and my husband remarked that he couldn’t detect any crab in it. It’s possible there was crab in the crab cake, but since it was likely cooked in the same oil as the rest of our meal, it turned out burnt and flavorless, making the crab nearly impossible to identify. We arrived between lunch and dinner hours when there were only three other customers present, so there was no excuse for the subpar food we were served. Our server, Liz, was attentive and brought our items promptly while checking in on us, but she did forget to offer us water. We’re giving one star for the good music, but we won’t be returning. We spent over $50 on the meal, excluding the tip, and now we understand why it's called the Angry Crab—you definitely leave feeling angry!

We hadn't visited this restaurant in a while and decided to stop by for a late dinner at 8:45 PM. The hostess was friendly, and we were seated right away. However, our server seemed to be having an off night and appeared frustrated when we asked questions about the menu. As for the food, I would recommend avoiding the clams, as we mostly received empty shells with little to no clam meat. On a positive note, the naked shrimp with garlic sauce was excellent. Our dinner ended up costing about $45 per person, which included one beer each. We may consider trying a different location to see if it offers a better experience.

I had a wonderful experience! I stopped by to celebrate, and the food was outstanding as always. On 02/16/24, I enjoyed fried fish and shrimp, along with grilled sausage, fries, onion rings, and red beans and rice. Everything was incredible!
