I've seen some great reviews. What happened to our food service???? Yeah it was busy at noon on Wed 6/1/22. I ordered the special chicken, mashed, veggie, roll. Should have been easy to get it right and timely. Wife got a burger. We waited a half hour. Three tables near us came after us and all were served first next to us, table of 4 came after, ate and were gone before we saw our food. I had to ask the server if we were forgotten. My chicken was WAY overcooked no flavor, no seasoning I could tell likely washed off in the grease bath very greasy and smushy, didn't need teeth could have gummed it down. Server said green beans were canned so I ordered the peas turned out, also canned. UCK. Potatoes roll OK, they also didn't mess up my Coke. I couldn't choke down the awful chicken or the peas. Wife said her burger was WAY PAST well done and dried out, supposed to be medium rare. She left half of it as well. I thought Kansas farmers knew how to cook and eat good food. Not so here. I also figured with all the cars outside, then the place jammed inside, locals eating here, this is going to be GREAT. But both the service and the food were HORRIBLE. Though the server was pleasant. I did a full 20% tip due to that; and the bad food not her fault, gave her a break so busy she lost track of when we arrived apparently. Though no apology for so slow or any price comp when I asked if we were forgotten. Clearly CCC has no competition in this tiny town. We drive by here every trip between Denver and Milwaukee, 2 3 times a year. And my extended family is from a small town in Kansas, I'm familiar with the culture. I am marking on the GPS great places to stop. I am not inclined to give this cafe a 2nd chance though I might if they had gotten SOMETHING right. Not like they need our business with so many satisfied with less than mediocre food service. Triple C Cafe is now named NEVER STOP.
This is a great spot to grab a bite to eat. I always make a stop here during my trips to North Platte. The restaurant is clean, and the food quality is consistently excellent. I highly recommend it!
Our friend's taste in food seems off if this is what they consider good. I ordered the special, which was ample but bland, and I noticed that the profit margins are quite high—around 70%. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from dried flakes, while the vegetables seemed to come straight from a can, and the meat just felt like it had been slopped together without much thought. I could easily make a similar meal at home for a fraction of the cost, which explains the restaurant’s approach. There are many simple upgrades that could elevate the dining experience, but it seems the clientele here doesn't demand it. As for us, we won't be returning—not because the food is basic, but because there are better options elsewhere. If you're looking for an honest review, this is as candid as it gets. Our friend could definitely use some guidance on what truly constitutes good food.
This restaurant offers delicious food at a great price, with daily specials that keep things interesting. It's a popular spot with friendly servers. Don’t miss out on Thursday, which is chicken fried steak day, featuring real mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, and a roll. If you leave hungry, there’s definitely something amiss!
