My child loves the hummus and falafels, though they're not as fond of the 'chicken nuggets' (which are actually mildly spiced chicken strips). Tonight, we had the pleasure of enjoying the Ramadan Iftar buffet, which featured some traditional dishes and drinks that we had never tried before. The chef was available to answer our questions, and he seemed genuinely proud of his creations, which is well-deserved.
The Lamb Fatteh, priced at $25, features a marinated lamb casserole accompanied by crispy Lebanese bread, spiced rice, garlic, mint, yogurt, and tahini sauce, all topped with pine nuts. There's also a similar Chicken Fatteh available for the same price, but if you can only choose one, the lamb is definitely the standout option. I also particularly enjoyed the dry texture of the falafel, which costs $10 for four pieces and is served with tahini sauce, pickles, and tomatoes.
Opened only last year, Petra Palace is a newcomer to Canberra's world cuisine scene, but it's definitely a restaurant worth discovering, as the food is absolutely delicious! Located in Colbee Court, Phillip, like many of Canberra's hidden gems, it provides convenient parking right at the entrance and offers great value for money.
This is by far the best Lebanese food in Canberra. The food is cooked like a traditional Lebanese mother or father would, it is fresh and the owners are so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be going back. Highly recommend it!
The best Lebanese food in town. Pita is fresh hot and crispy, really tasty kofta in generous portions. Good varieties from mezze menu and hummus dipping is second to none
