Sophie's Kitchen - Philadelphia

Went there yesterday (Sunday) at 3:30 and it was empty. My daughter I seated ourselves. We ordered a variety of dishes and enjoyed each dishes individual flavors. Some were sweet, sour, bitter, savory but unique. I wouldn't say they're authentic Cambodian cuisine but I was not, to say the least, disappointed. There were plenty to take back home as leftovers. Will definitely be back because it was fresh and I enjoy the ambience as well.

I have been to this eatery since before it moved here. Food has always been very good. Wait staff is super friendly and always nice. Decor is cute and the plants are a plus. Sophie takes alot of pride in her green thumb. Beef sticks are delicious. The fried shrimp is also very delicious. These two appetizers are a must get if you come. I have had a few different types of fried fish here and the deep fried fish with the shredded mango is still my favorite. Salaw Manchu beef was good. The week before I tried the fish noodle soup and it was ok. I think this was because my bowl was just slightly warm. My daughter had the rice soup and it was piping hot and delicious. Parking is street parking or in the lot. Sophie's kitchen makes a great addition to the eateries on Washinton Ave.

Best Cambodian Food in South Philly Hands down. Local family owned restaurant and takes it back to the most legit authentic style of cambodian cooking. Service is great, portions are good and the atmosphere is welcoming like home. Do not hesitate to try new things, each dish and entree is packed with unique flavors, spices and herbs that most south east Asian cooking dont have. I recommend trying out Somlaw Majou Kroeung beef styled soup. Great with white jasmine rice. Good amount of heat, lemon grass flavor and other delicious spices in one special soup. It 's the Crack to my taste buds.

Yummmmm!! I’m new to Cambodian food but wow this place is delicious. The staff is family and they are so sweet and knowledgeable. They helped us put together a terrific order. Lots of picky eaters and everyone was happy!Kid-friendliness: My kids felt extremely welcomed and they liked the current background music.
