Your soup of the day was amazing and my friend got the curry chicken salad sandwich he loved. What really bleededed me away was that I saw that they “caramel cardamom apple wine” and I always ask if restaurants have milk free caramel, but they do NIE and when I asked, they said that they only have a separate caramel for it!” I was blown away and so happy! The drink was delicious. The staff was super friendly. Will definitely go back.
I am a fan of dogs, but they do not belong in a restaurant where food is being served. The space was small and a woman came in with a large fluffy dog that sat only 6 feet away from me while I was trying to eat my sandwich. The employee even complimented the woman on how cute her dog was, showing that they didn't mind the presence of pets. The food was average at best. The tuna melt I ordered came out as a closed-faced sandwich with a thick slab of unmelted cheese in the middle. The potato salad was a surprise, as it was filled with grapes, quinoa, and chickpeas (which I did not realize when I ordered it). There seemed to be more of these extras than actual potatoes in the salad. The employee at the counter was friendly, but the cleanliness of the establishment left something to be desired. I only stayed to eat because I was hungry and in a hurry.
I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was at this restaurant. I would have given it 5 stars, but they also serve meat.
Red Hook is a charming little breakfast and lunch spot that offers a variety of vegan options. This was my first visit and I tried the vegan curry chicken salad, which was delicious. The portions are generous and the ingredients taste very fresh and high quality. The owners of Red Hook are two wonderful women who clearly put a lot of love and care into their restaurant. You can see their passion in every aspect of the place.
I was initially unsure about the menu as there weren't many vegan options, but what they do offer is fantastic. I had a delicious bagel with Tofutti cream cheese, which I haven't had in years. It was excellent! I also tried the BLT-A on focaccia bread, with tempeh bacon that was well-seasoned and packed with greens and avocado. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for vegan options, especially if dining with non-vegan friends. The restaurant is located in a trendy neighborhood, so enjoy your meal!
