The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and there is plenty of parking available. We usually opt for pick-up or delivery, as dining in is not really an option.
I had never been to Papa John's before, so I decided to go in store and order a slice. However, I was informed that they do not sell slices and was met with a blank stare. I ended up picking up a menu and discovering that you have to order a whole pizza. I decided to take advantage of the half price pizza offer and ordered a small cheese pizza for $9. After waiting for 20 minutes, I asked for my order and was told it would be $9. I requested my discount and was told that the price already included it. I argued that there was no way a small pizza should cost $16 and mentioned that I did not order premium cheese. The manager, Samantha, seemed uninterested and when I asked about the price of premium cheese, she did not seem to know. Ultimately, I left without receiving my pizza as nobody seemed to care about the situation. This was hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had.
I placed an order online at 3:30 on a Saturday for pick up at 5pm, but had trouble finding the option for a future order. I called the Water St store and was told they couldn't accommodate my request for a 2 for 1 special pizza with different toppings on each side. I eventually figured out how to place my order for 4pm online and picked it up at 5pm, as my family eats dinner early due to having young children. The staff seemed clueless about certain menu options and my order wasn't ready until 5:06, despite giving them an hour's notice. The pizza itself was disappointing, with a soggy crust, overly sweet sauce, and sparse toppings. I complained via email and was offered a free side with my next order by the District Manager, but I don't see a reason to return based on the poor quality, service, and overall experience. The in-store prices also didn't match what I was quoted online.Overall, it was a terrible experience and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Papa John's offers good pizza at a little bit of a high price unless you are a student, then you get better deals if you decide to pick your order up. There is a pepper and a free dipping sauce included with your pizza. The online ordering is great and you can earn points as well that you put towards free pizza.
At 3:30 on a Saturday I went online to place an order. I found it difficult to find the check box that allowed me to place a future order (for 5pm) so I called the Water St store. The employee was unable to take my order as it was a 2 for 1 special where one pizza would have full toppings on one side, 1 topping on the other. Not sure about you but my family has ordered pizza this way for 4+ decades ... but, the "computer" (staff blamed the machine not their lack of competence in using it) "couldn't do that".Price quoted was $26 for a $20 order. No flexibility. I figured out hot to place my FUTURE order @ 4pm, ONLINE. Pick up for 5. Why 5? We have 2 small kids who eat at 5.I arrive at the restaurant and pay. I ask (same employee) why I couldn't order pan or thick crust online - I was greeted with a blank stare and no response. She didn't know. Training fail #2 PJs.I ordered 1 hour early to give the store PLENTY of notice to have our pies ready for 5pm. They were not ready until 5:06 pm. Why the heck order early? Isn't this a quick win for the store? 60 minutes notice to have something ready when requested. PLENTY of notice.Got the pizza home. The crust was the texture of wet cardboard. The sauce tasted like they add a ton of sugar - far too sweet. The toppings sparse - few and far between. Best part of the order? I'd have to say the napkins. I would consider the banana pepper garnish but I didn't try that.I did complain via email. The District Manager offered me a "free side with my next order". Sorry Jennifer, which part of "Not sure we have a reason to return. Time, quality and service were all failing grades " did not make sense? The product service and delivery were garbage. Why would we ever order again, just to get a high fat, low quality deep fried side?Awful experience.Awful food.In-store price not equal online = Awful training.
