Montana's Cookhouse - Peterborough

Went on a Wednesday evening for a bday party and arrived 6 pm. Drink orders were taken quickly. Prob arrived 10 min later. The place was absolutely packed. Anyway gave our food orders. Waitress was trying to be good but could tell she was rushed. Our meals, 7 of us including 3 kids under 10 took about 45 minutes ! I know it was busy. But the food is nothing special so should not take that long. I had apple pecan salad that was lacking in dressing. My husband didn't get gravy. But we didn't see her again to ask for stuff. Please hire more kitchen staff maybe ??? Food quality is not worth the wait. Won't be back. Better places to go.

Good food for a fast food road house kind of place. Lots of different things on the menu to choose from from salads, two ribs, two hamburgers, chicken fingers, roast beef, shepherds pie I believe and so much more. One of my favourite things that they had on the menu was deep-fried cheesecake. Unfortunately they have taken it off the menu which has caused us not to go into the restaurant very often. The nachos at one point were fantastic however they've change the menu once again and I'm not crazy about the new topping. Wait staff are very friendly. Ask for Megan, she is one of the most amazing waitresses in Peterborough and will look after you very well.

My husband and I decided to go to Montana's for lunch because I got a 15% off coupon online. We went for lunch. My husband had the Reuben sandwich which he really enujoyed. There was a lot of pastrami in it along with mustard, 1,000 Island dressing, cheese and sauerkraut. A deep fried pickle came with it and I had a bite of that. Very good. He had his sandwich with fries which were nice and crisp. At $13.99 (minus 15%) he was very pleased with his lunch. I decided to try the 7 oz petite fillet which the menu said was served hand-carved and with waffle fries @ $14.99. The steak came medium-rare as I ordered it and it had been cut in thick slices across the steak. The pieces were so big that I had to use the steak knife to cut them in half and I sure had t work for that! The steak was unbelievabley tough and very difficult to cut. Chewing it was another chore and at one point when I swallowed it actually stuck in my throat. I tried the steak sauce and then one of the BBQ sauces which were on the table because there was no taste to the steak and to help it slide down better. That wasn't much help. My steak was served with regular fries, not waffle fries as advertised. I don't know why but I did not mention the toughness of the steak to our server until we were paying the bill. She seemed surprised, saying that she rarely had complaints that the steak was tough. I told her I would not be ordering steak there again which didn't matter at all to her. Actually I don't know if we will even go to Montana's again.

Fast, clean, consistent! Ashley is a great server, always remembers us and our orders when we go and we aren't there weekly;) Always leave full and happy:)

Went to dinner to night here at Montana's. Very friendly service. Our starter food came very fast, and our dinner came before even being done our salad. Steak was cooked to perfection. Amazing place to eat, friendly staff. Will be back. Reasonable priced.
