La Mesita Mexican - Peterborough

I had a fantastic experience during our lunch visit to this quaint Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend the meal for two, which includes refreshing drinks. The service provided by the young man was impeccable, and the Churro dessert was absolutely delicious. I also appreciated the unique artwork that adorns the walls, and the restroom was notably cleaner than many others I've encountered! Overall, it’s a wonderful place. Food: 5/5

TLDR; This is the best Tacos in town.I have travelled and tried all sorts of Tacos from Toronto to Texas to Mexico itself and it was hard to find tacos that are made authentically with wonderful flavour at a reasonable price.La Mesita Mexican Restaurant was able to exceed my expectations. The decorations are traditional and the chef/owner is tremendously friendly and recommended 3 delicious tacos that the moment they hit my palette instantly transported me back to my vacation in Mexico.The wide variety of meats as well as vegetarian options makes this spot a stellar restaurant for any occasion and I would absolutely recommend this location to my friends and family. I cannot stress how authentic, filling and flavourful the tacos were. If you want the genuine taco experience this is the place!I look forward to coming here again especially to try their other taco options.

I recently visited with a large group and we didn’t call ahead. The owner was so kind and worked hard to make our experience a great one! The food was spectacular and the service was incredible. He was concerned that we had to wait for our food (which would have been completely understandable given the size of our group), but it wasn’t a long wait at all. I will definitely go back again! Delicious food!

I had been looking forward to dining at this restaurant for quite some time, and my wife and I finally made it there tonight. Unfortunately, after we were seated and received our menus, we decided to leave. Despite the numerous positive reviews and enticing photos of the food, we were disappointed to find that the cleanliness of the establishment was lacking. The laminated menus were quite dirty, with food remnants stuck to them, and the floors appeared to have not been swept for a few days. Overall, the place seemed unclean, which ultimately made us choose to leave and find another restaurant. It’s a shame, as we were eager to try the food. We may visit again in the future, hoping for a better experience.

This is going to be a different kind of review, as I have yet to actually eat there. I met Martin Kelly as they visited our baby clothing business in Ottawa's ByWard Market during Canada Day weekend. We had a great little chat and when talk turned to their restaurant I was more than impressed by his passion and talent. One look at their pictures and you automatically know it's authentic Mexican!Will update this review once we make the trip from Ottawa!
