We had a 40th birthday party in The Lounge, a separate room with its own bar and seating area. The food was served hot and tasty, the room was warm, considering the temperature outside. Staff were friendly and worked hard. A lovely evening was had by all. Would recommend Price per person: £50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Following a recommendation, we attended the pub for dinner on Saturday. The atmosphere was lovely, a true country pub. The staff were friendly and professional. The wine and mains were delicious. However, the Pear Apple Mille-fuille stole the show. I was blown away by the presentation, exquisite. Three layers of delicate, flaky pastry that melted in your mouth. The crisp, fresh pear and apple amazingly cut into the tiniest cubes I have ever seen. I will 100% be back alongside recommending the pub to friends and family.

Party of 8, table booked for 7.30. Didn 't get to eat until 9ish. Said kitchen was busy but pub wasn 't Will not return. Very disappointed. Thank you for your reply, which bears no relation to the reality, nor includes an apology. If our order had been taken at 7.30, by the time we had eaten our starter then there would have been ample time for any main course to be prepared. Your staff where courteous, on which they must be congratulated, and the low service score does not reflect on them, only the running of the catering. But they were clearly embarrassed about the delay sorry, we haven 't forgotten you, etc. etc. . People arriving after us were served well before us. We are a group of retirees, not troublemakers, but poor service needs to be addressed for the longevity of your business. All your summations come from your staff, not from talking to us, so is clearly biased.
