Hotel Peterborough

The Hotel Peterborough may not be as fancy as Pete Evans' Asana, but it excels at what it does. The cafe serves good, honest food with great service, in a typical pub-style atmosphere.

We went here prior to going to the Light and Sound Show at the railways. They were happy for us to order at 5pm so that we had time to eat and go over for the show. It is a bit of a strange set up... it is a pub with a takeaway room/shop. You order in the takeaway shop and it is served to you in the restaurant part of the hotel.Food was very hot when it was brought out and tasted good. However we had ordered before others did and they got their meals quicker. When questioned it was due to one of the meals taking longer to cook, but then a few minutes later they came out to say it wouldn't be to long as it was a different meal that took longer to cook?????A few mistakes with meals... veggies ordered but given salad, no rolls with the soup and the garlic bread coming out after the all the main meals were served.... but in general not too bad.Don't think I would recommend or go back

Open til 10pm.. awesome food and service.. happy to cook anything within reason. pricing excellent. filled our empty stomachs.

Hotel Peterborough has recently changed owners and is undergoing extensive and timely refurbishing. This noted the restaurant is comfortable without being luxurious. The food is good Aussie pub food (including lambs fry!) and is prepared very well. Our meals were delicious. Should we ever be passing through again we will definitely stop for a meal.

We were recommended to try the Hotel Peterborough for dinner by a local, and we found that the decor was very simple but cozy, and the staff was friendly. The menu was also straightforward, and we decided to order the lasagna and lamb's fry and bacon. Our meals arrived promptly and were delicious and filling. Despite the old exterior and outdated interior of the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was.
