Sundays - Peterborough

I visited the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon for a cold drink and a scone. I wanted to sit outside because the weather was nice, but the only available table was covered in dirty plates, glasses, cups, and cans. When I went inside, I found that every table was also piled high with dirty dishes and half-eaten meals, with flies buzzing around. Eventually, a table outside became available and I ordered a coke and a scone, asking for the table to be cleared. A reluctant staff member cleared the table, but didn't bother to clean up spilled salt, ketchup, or the general mess. Another customer was even moving dirty plates from her table to another without any staff member taking notice. When my scone arrived, it was overcooked and rock hard, likely from being in the microwave for too long. When I finally managed to cut it, it was still too tough to eat. The staff seemed more interested in what was going on outside rather than attending to customers. I will not be returning to this restaurant as the overall cleanliness and service were both lacking.

We had two small roast beef meals that were far from satisfactory, reasons being the beef was dry, potatoes more boiled then roasted, the cabbage like it had been stewed for days, the Yorkshire pudding was thick, misshapen and stale and the gravy had the consistency of thick glue. To top it all, by the time we sat down at the table our meals were lukewarm to cold. Horrible meals to say the least. When Sundays was operating some years ago near the shopping centre the food was great, fresher and served hot. Shame the place has deteriorated!

Four of us went to this restaurant for a casual lunch. The homemade soup was delicious, according to my daughter, and it came with 'nice bread'. One friend ordered a hot roast beef roll and greatly enjoyed it. My other companion and I opted for sandwiches, which had beautifully fresh bread and imaginative fillings. We would definitely go back again.

I had two small lunch roasts at this restaurant. The food was delicious, fresh, and tasted amazing. The staff was friendly and they followed social distancing guidelines well. I would definitely recommend this place, it's a hidden gem. Five stars.

Faultless. Tasty food and wonderful service. Enjoyed family Sunday roast at fantastic Sundays. Excellent location. Peterborough at its best.
