Lakeside Kitchen Bar - Peterborough

We sat in the enclosed outdoor area, which is pet-friendly. On a chilly, windy day, we were disappointed to find that the wood burner wasn't lit, and we only had a small fan heater that didn’t provide much warmth. Despite that, we enjoyed a nice lunch of a brie and bacon panini, served with chips and coleslaw. The staff were very helpful, holding doors open for our wheelchair, and the wheelchair access was excellent!

The restaurant offers a nice variety of outdoor seating, and the indoor area is clean. The tomato sauce dispenser was quite fancy, but it ended up spilling all over me and the customer next to me. My vegetarian breakfast was served without the beans, and there was no apology or alternative offered. On a positive note, the filter coffee is enjoyable.

I had a wonderful time visiting this charming place. There's a lovely bike path that surrounds the lake, along with a large playground for the kids. You can rent bicycles, canoes, and boats from a small spot near the café. The falafel burgers and fish finger wraps were incredibly delicious, and the beautiful view of the lake made the meal worthwhile, especially since the food only took about 10 minutes to arrive. We also enjoyed a fantastic bike tour around the lake. There’s a small area by the lake where children can paddle, and we took a nice ride along the river as well. The area is truly picturesque. Walking around the lake takes about an hour, and there are two cafés to choose from. There's even a bike rental station right next to one of the cafés.

Nice cup of coffee and flapjack. Inside seating area for dogs and owners overlooking the lake was very welcome.

The place and surroundings are excellent with the Lakeside view and atmosphere is uplifting. Food is OK but the chicken burger is dry and limited choice in menu. Would love to return for a breakfast.
