Much better then what I expected. after other reviews, I was a little tired of this place. Nothing on the special lunch menu jumped out with me, but I went with some work colleagues anyway. during lunch they make a $20.00 deal that includes a home drink, also say it should be ready in 20 minutes or they get 20% off. we had a table of 10 and it probably took 20 minutes, but that was ok. all that came out looked really good, generous sizes in consideration of a drink and meal cost $20.00 my chicken couscous salad was flooded with spinat, shredded carrot, pearl cousin to a very nice dressing, a decent amount of roaring, so pistachio. it was a lot...read more

Omg loved it. the waiter adam was excellent, he was very knowledgeable and delivered real service he is a fortune for the restaurant. the entrance of chicken chowder was nice, it was thick, creamy full taste, the 2 mainspork chiop sweet potato chips as well as singapur curry were sensational and dessert be zimt donut sticks with chocolate dipping sauce were delicious. I would strongly recommend this restaurant adding the view of the sunset and it was a perfect evening that we visit from interest and will be back before we go home

Culinary embarrassment. our visit to the straits cafe was a disappointment to say the least. all the lob I could give can only go to the presentation of the place, the renovations look great, but that's it. The chicken-curry partner my consisted of small pieces of chickens, kartoffels and tofu, which float in a watery yellow chaos. it was more like a suppe. it did not come with rice, and reis was not an option (because, you know, who heard of reis and curry went together? if we were going to rice, we would have to order the Nasi-Greng rice. a bowl with steamed rice was beyond the abilities of the kitchen of the straits caffe. my meal was just as disappointing, I ordered the laksa that could be best...read more

Hidden Gem. Recently stayed at the newly renovated Rendezvous Studio Hotel...Monday the 7th. I thought it was fantastic... the rooms were very well done and very comfortable. the overall look and feel of the hotel was really well done and modern. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly, especially our server Matt, we even made a point to thank the Head Chef for the food as it was fantastic! we shared the buffalo chicken wings... OH... MY...GOD... AWESOME!! The ribs werer amazing and my partner had the eye fillet, very good...thanks to Katherine for making our checking out a smooth one. we loved our stay so much were are going to book again for Australia day!

Good food, marginal service. was here or so often, eating is always great! but if basilikum erroneously runs the bar / meal expect to go thirsty and starve! on my last dinner sat our drinks on the bar, as long as the barmen used a straw to put a head back on the beer. very unprofessional!
