Old Faithful Bar & Bbq - Perth

My wife & I visited on a Friday night. Busy without being crazy. Friendly waitstaff who were helpful without being intrusive. Food was amazing & the smoky porter beer was a very nice accompaniment to the meal. All in all yummy in my tummy ????

The food was outstanding, the service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was definitely reminiscent of a typical American BBQ joint. The food served on a huge platter with tin plates is EXACTLY like some of my favourite BBQ restaurants back home in the states.It was definitely a five-star experience, and we'll be going out of our way to eat here again. My only problem was that the delicious chili was too thin and runny to be served alongside the even more delicious tortilla chips. A thicker chili would've made more sense, and I probably wouldn't order this item again. However, there are so many sides and snacks to choose from that I don't think I'll be running out anytime soon!

I had been wanting to try out Old Faithful for a very long time, but had never got round to it as it is the opposite end of the city to us, but as soon as we found ourselves in the area at lunch time, it was a no brainer where we would have to stop for a bite to eat! The décor is quirky and relaxed, with exposed bricks and hanging lights - a style I absolutely love, so from the word go I was a fan. We sat down at long bench tables, and within seconds were dribbling over the menu. My boyfriend and I are complete carnivores, and unashamedly so, loving nothing more than a good quality meat feast. The menu offers you each meat in 100g servings, so you can have as little or as much as you like, perfect for choosing a bit of each and sharing a plate, the menu also featured mouth-watering sides, along with sandwich and snack options. We went for a selection including pork belly, 150 day grain-fed brisket, BBQ corn with white sauce and fried sprouts with kimchi and siracha. Every single thing was to die for, the meat was cooked to absolute perfection, the colour of the brisket in particular was so beautiful and pink, not to mention it just melted in the mouth. The sprouts were also a standout dish, I've recreated the dish myself several times since as it was just so delicious - although I have to say I can't get mine to taste quite as good as Old Faithful did. We only had small portions of each dish, as we were out for a light lunch, so after our meal washed down with a beautiful glass of red we were not uncomfortably full, but this is definitely the kind of place you could come when you have a good hunger on, and you would be guaranteed to leave in a bit of a food coma! Value for money I would say it was very good, not ridiculously expensive (although not a cheap eats restaurant) and very good quality cuts of meat, I think if you did come in with eyes bigger than your belly it could get quite pricey, the menu is that good that you could definitely be tempted to order one of everything!

Meat cooked to perfection, very tasty sides and all round enjoyable atmosphere. Ideal location to visit before or after events at Perth Arena.

Can't knock the quality of the BBQ food we had here at Old Faithful, but I feel for what you get it was overpriced. The beer was excellent, with a great range of beer and cider available.
