Brasserie Les Platanes - Perpignan

I have only eaten here once, probably more than 2 years ago, but as a regular visitor to the Saturday Brocante Market I have coffee and croissants very often in this brasserie. In fact it's the only option close to the market, so it's lucky that it's a good one.

Visited in the early evening. No food available - just a very ordinary bar. I guess the place has changed hands.

The food is genuine frnch made with Heart and feeling. its genuine and catalan. we had to wait for 50 minutes but its okay because it prooves the food is fresh and made for you. there is no winecard so you have to take the housewine. all the locals dines here under the platanes with the river floating by. prices are stunningly low.

We stopped at this brasserie across from the park in Perpignan where the weekly brocante takes place. We knew nothing about it, but it was handy so we took a chance. We had a wonderful lunch (a daily special) in very pleasant outdoor surroundings in the heart of Perpignan. Highly recommended.

We never had embarrassing and happy on this sound. there are no tourist. shoukd I say it again, no tourist byet it is very close to the old city. the two young French men waiter could not have been more helpful. they could. reasonable English speaking. eating was cheap, but good. we had garnel, whistle, a starter, a bottle of wine and espresso and were around euro. beautiful brasserie set at the kai. we have asked about reviews. they said there were no reviews because that was for the neighboring. very accommodating. would definitely go back.
