Nippon Sushi - Pensacola

I never expect mall based restaurants to be very good but I was pleasantly surprised by Nippon! The food was excellent and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The place was clean and the sushi tasted fresh. I ate at Sushi Masa a few nights prior and enjoyed my food and experience at Nippon a lot more. I will definitely be returning!

Food is just fantastic. The couple that owns the place put a lot of love, attention, and hard work into the design and atmosphere of the place and it really is a unique area especially in Cordova. I’ve been going here since they opened DAY 1 in the smaller venue right beside where they do boba tea now and am always happy with the food.I’ve noticed over the years that the service has gone down in quality, only the service. Over last 3 years. They are hiring people (servers specifically) that are inattentive, not nice, or just cold in general. Went there this past weekend. We had to constantly ask the waiter for items that are basic like utensils, chop sticks, soy sauce, plates, etc. it was only a group of 3 adults and 2 kids and she charged gratuity automatically. She threw away our leftovers less than 1 min after we left and forgot them. Most servers would keep those around for a bit to make sure we come back.. or let us know as we walk out (she was cleaning as we left). This is not the first time I’ve noticed the servers don’t care about customers.Overall food is fantastic but service reallly needs improvement.

Service was slow, food tasted very bland. From actually being in Japan and tasting authentic Japanese food, this is far from real Japanese food. Ramen had zero flavor, poke tasted like a bowl of teriyaki sauce. Once we finally got our food, we weren’t checked on the rest of our visit. My drink was empty the entire time I ate my food. Wouldn’t recommend.
