Rosa Mexicano - Penn Wynne

First time going and last. The salad was poorly made and packed. The Crispy Shrimp Tempura lacked some ingredients. The prices were well overpriced for the amount of food given.

We have been dining at Rosa Mexicano for many years, starting in NYC. We have been to the Ardmore location several times but the last visit was very disappointing. One of the members of our group ordered a cheese enchilada which arrived stuffed with chicken. We alerted the server and they took the enchiladas away. Then cheese enchiladas arrived that were laughably tiny. Instead of a full portion, the portion was less than half of what it usually is. We sent it back and just as everyone else was finishing their dinner, the correct enchiladas arrived. We were all very nice about it but we expected that the enchiladas would be comped since they had to be sent back twice and finally arrived too late for the recipient to enjoy them with the group.Not sure if we will be back again.

The food was not good at all. Even the salsa was way too sweet and the guacamole was off. I ordered red chili shrimp tacos, which had absolutely no flavor. I requested tomatillo on the side that never came. My husband ordered Carnitas Estado, which was dry and didn't have much taste either. This restaurant used to be a really good place to go. Not sure what's going on there, we will more than likely cross this off our list of places to go. Also mentioned these things to the server and he never sent a manager over. Instead of give a coupon for free guacamole. 

Service was slower than expected for a Saturday night. Waited almost 10 mins before drinks came out. We ordered an appetizer and our entrees at the same time, but the appetizer came out as we finished our entrees. Food was very bland as if there was no seasoning used. A little salt would have gone a long way to help. There were also no salt, pepper or hot sauce to add at the table. We requested some hot sauce that was never provided.

First, Hailey, the hostess was TERRIBLE! He attitude was was horrible because she was stressed . You can tell the crowd and large amount of guest give her anxiety so we tried to be patient. There were 5 tables available outside on this 78 degree day. She told us there were no tables outside and also that they didn’t do reservations which made 0 since. If there’s no reservations and tables available what are we waiting for??? So we asked to be put on the 20 minute waitlist. We asked if we’d receive a text, she said yes. We came back after 35 minutes because we never received a call. When we got back she said she called us but we received no call. She argued with us about it, and we then asked can we be seated next. With an Attitude she snatched menus and told us to follow her. She swung the door open which closed on me as I followed her and we were seated. The male waiter was nice. He advertised the pomegranate margaritas and received the spiciest pomegranate margaritas. After complaining we were told they got mixed up with spicy margaritas that were marinated for 24hours. We got shrimp tacos which were okay and the guac was okay but under seasoned. Overall I will not be returning , nothing about this place intrigued me whatsoever.
