Bar/caffetteria/restaurante Playa Sur

Lovely little restaurant with a relaxed feel to it.nice extensive menu and menu of the day. The staff are very friendly and the food is very good. We have been here a few times now and we have always enjoyed our meal. Wewill be going back.

Cafe Playa Sur is excellent and the hosts, Toni and Lola are great people. Whenever I come here, they look after you and are always very friendly and chatty. This is a great spot by the sea for Coffee and a relax : Check it out!

Being in Peniscola for a long weekend with another couple to also celebrate a birthday we came across this restaurant on our second night by chance as we strolled along the Playa Sur seafront. What actually caught our eye was the fact that there was music and another birthday party group and since everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves as well as the food we decided to dive in and give it a try. Like a number of other cafe/restaurants in the area it is not fancy but if you want quality food and fun atmosphere over elegance then this is the place. Food aside, what added to the whole experience was the hospitality provided by the proprietors Tonino and Lola (genuine Italians from the South of Italy Moliterno/Basilicata) and their assistant Belen who really make every effort to make you the customer feel at home!! They serve a variety of traditional Spanish dishes (i.e., tapas, paella) but their emphasis is on Italian cuisine (lobster risotto, spaghetti with seafood, rigatoni Sorrentino, pasta 4 cheeses, meat pizzaiola style, to mention a few). Not to be missed is the home made panna cotta (by young chef Daniel) an absolute must for dessert. And, why not take advantage of a great cocktail prepared by Lola who is a cocktail specialist ; if you do, ask for Tonino 's personalized G&T you won 't be disappointed. Needless to say, we went back the following evening (our last night in Peniscola) for dinner.
