The staff was very attentive, the food was delicious, and the margaritas were perfectly perfect. I had a question about my meal regarding ingredients and allergies, and the staff made sure there was no cross-contamination.
Located in Orange Lake Resort, this is supposed to be the one nice dinner restaurant that you can dine at without having to leave the resort. Unfortunately, they have not updated their menu on their website or the resorts website to inform you that they are only serving off of the Tradewind 's Bar Grill 's very short and limited Lunch Menu. The staff is very rude and unfriendly. We purchased our drinks and waited to be sat, they walked us through the restaurant 3 times being pawned off from one employee to another to finally be told that we had to wait another 20 minutes to be sat. What a horrible experience. We left immediately. First you get dressed and ready to eat a great meal based on the menu provided online to find out they are not offering anything off that menu and then escorted through the restaurant like lost puppies and pawned off 3 times to other employees to be told oh sorry, its going to be a 20 min wait we can put you on the list behind everyone else even though you were here first and we thought we had a seat for you but we don 't... It was humiliating and embarrassing... and no one cared... they had an oh well attitude.
This place wasn't bad but not the best. At first before we got here we tried to make. a reservation. Cause it was a bunch of us . Which at first is was fine then when we got there they said they never heard anything we waited quite a while to get seated . Then we got our drinks I ordered a Shirley' temple which I barely ever do and it tasted like straight tap water . They gave it in little cups of plastic It was nice to have water at the table when we sat down . Then the waitress disappeared for a while till she took our orders . And the food took about two hours to Get we ordered simple stuff . They do have specials everyday . They also took a while for the drinks they served wine in cups instead of glasses which was interesting cause the water was in a wine glass they said they were out. But eventually found some . My food was pretty good I got steak with some cranberry sauce. Mash potatoes and asparagus. So food excellent and cooked good . Prices are pricy but your on vacation and it felt like a regular sit down place nothing fancy they also have Karaoke nights . It's a little hidden. Near the pool area all in all good food but not so much the service.
We are owners at Orange Lake and wanted to try this restaurant. We were greeted by a sour faced young lady who told us that it should be a 45 minute wait. We went to the bar to grab a drink and wait. The poor bartender was alone but did her best to keep up. We wanted to wait at the bar but the overwhelming smell of garbage made us retreat to the pool area (a bunch of people left the area because of the stench! . After 50 minutes we spoke to the young lady at the desk and she showed us to a table that had been empty the entire time we were there. After waiting for 20 minutes and getting absolutely no service, I asked her if I was invisible. She didn’t have any good alternatives for us to be seated so we waited another few minutes for the waitress to fly by us and not even stop. The absolute worst service I’ve seen in a long time. Do not go there.
Service was friendly but the food was lacking in a few areas. I had the teriyaki salmon with rice asparagus. The rice wasn't fully cooked, the asparagus was meh, the salmon sauce were delicious. The kids had a hotdog grilled cheese with fries, they liked theirs. My husband had the surf/turf. The steak was cooked as requested, his rice and asparagus were like mine. Rice should be tested for doneness before serving.
