Sands Cafe - Pembrokeshire

Friendly staff, really tasty coffee (even the decaf was good! and honestly the best Millionaire’s shortbread I’ve ever had in my life. Staff very welcoming and could not be more helpful when we needed to find a taxi. Thoroughly recommended!

We are a small group of 8 people walking along the coastal path. The restaurant was able to accommodate us in their small cafe area, providing extra chairs and serving us delicious toasted sandwiches and hot drinks at a very reasonable price on a cold and windy day. We are grateful for their hospitality.

During our stay at Newgale campsite, we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast at Sands Cafe on our last morning instead of cooking. My friend opted for the full English breakfast while I chose scrambled eggs and bacon. The food was delicious and we also enjoyed a nice pot of tea. However, our dining experience was slightly disrupted by a large group of walkers who were noisy and made it difficult to have a conversation.

We have been frequenting this restaurant for 15 years, as it used to be our favorite spot. However, it has noticeably declined in quality over the years. Our last visit left us skeptical about returning, but we love Newgale Beach so decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately, our experience was even worse than before. The restaurant was dirty and neglected, with sticky tables and dirty glasses. The service was subpar, and the menu was limited and unappetizing. The food we ordered was also inedible. It's such a disappointment as this restaurant in this beautiful location has so much potential. We doubt we'll be returning again. What a shame.

Visited here in April and gave it glowing reports. Visited today and was so dissapointed. Ordered a special Sands burger. What was special about it was that it was in umpteen pieces on the cob!. I should have complained but i was soo hungry i just wolfed it down. The whole place looked so shabby with parts of the ceiling dropping down and terrible sticky tables. I notice it has just a 2 star rating for food hygene. I think i'll give it a miss next time i'm passing. Shame as it has so much promise to do well.
