I decided to go with the classic smash burger. You can choose from various patty options such as beef, chicken, turkey, or black bean. I chose beef because I like to keep it simple. The beef patty was delicious, juicy, and satisfying. I added a fried egg on top of the burger, but I didn't enjoy it as much. It seemed overcooked and turned into a dry egg. They should ask how you like your eggs cooked because not only do runny eggs taste better, but they also look better in pictures. Additionally, there was a $1.29 upcharge for the egg, which I found to be pricey. If I had ordered to-go, I would have just made my own egg at home. The fries were also a disappointment. Despite looking pretty in the picture, I found the smash fries with rosemary, olive oil, and garlic to be difficult to eat due to the excessive oil. However, this restaurant is affordable compared to most burger joints where burgers typically cost $8 or more on average. The classic smash burger here was only $6. You also have the option to customize your own burger if you don't like any of the available choices.
I love Smashburger! The food is great and they are usually busy when we come in, but I think they need more staff. They could really be a 5-star restaurant with a few more employees. Our favorite is the Miami Burger and the milkshakes are delicious. It's a great place for kids.
I would give Smashburger 2 1/2 stars. The fries were the highlight, earning a perfect five stars for being freshly made, thin, crispy, and perfectly salted. However, I don't think I would return just for the fries. I was disappointed with the burger, which I ordered wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. It was small and lackluster, and drenched in oil which soaked the lettuce. Maybe if it was on a bun, the oil wouldn't be as noticeable. The restaurant was clean, the server was helpful, and the food came out quickly. Overall, I was let down by the burger but may consider trying the chicken next time for a better experience.
This restaurant has significantly declined in quality, with very poor service. I ordered a double burger, but the young man working there entered it as a single burger. When I asked for it to be corrected, he refused. Additionally, the same employee made loud chopping noises in the freezer for 20 minutes, disturbing the peaceful dining experience of other customers. We will not be returning to this location.
I enjoy trying out different burger joints, and this place was really good. The prices were a bit on the higher side - we ended up spending $40 on a beer, two milkshakes, three burgers, and a large serving of fries. However, the service was excellent and our food came out quickly and tasted great.
