I moved to florida I was so happy to book. this situation was even better than arizona. sat outside, shared a bottle of wine. split 2 appetizers of sea red tuna and yellow ****. so good. then I had the Sashimi dinner, nabeby had Cirachi shoes. both were great, super fresh, with great service. highly recommended!
The server was great, shows us the best dishes in the menu and makes good suggestions. eating was tasteful, especially meat and lobster. we all loved the night in ra sushi.
My boyfriend and I decided at the last minute to go to Ra. He actually talked me into it. Went ahead and used the OpenTable app to make a reservation, just in case. Arrived and were greeted by 2 really nice hostesses. Immediately upon entry you could feel how COLD it was inside. It felt like the air was blowing on high and the temperature was down like REALLY LOW. The place was extremely loud inside. Most of the noise was coming from the inside bar area as the dining room floor area at the time only had 4 parties seated, 2 of those parties were 2 person parties. Please keep in mind we went at 11:30pm and they close at 1am. There were more customers outside dining on the patio. Which could have been because it was so cold inside. It was so cold, I had my boyfriend go back to the car to get a blanket for the both of us (we didn’t have any jackets). Our waiter rushed our dinner service, because apparently he was supposed to be cut from the floor but wasn’t. It made me feel uncomfortable, but I made it through. The happy hour was 10pm-Close. The salmon nigiri was on happy hour, so I ordered that. It was AMAZING. *chef’s kiss* We also ordered the edamame and pork gyoza, which were on the happy hour menu. Both were just okay. For entrees we both ordered the filet, chicken and colossus shrimp hibachi. THAT WAS WELL WORTH THE PRICE! Lastly, we ordered the surf and turf specialty roll. It wasn’t that great, compared to other surf and turf rolls from other sushi restaurants. We had hot sake, which was okay. Overall it was OKAY. I probably won’t come back because of how cold it was. I couldn’t really enjoy my dinner, I had to take it to go. I’m sure when the restaurant is packed it’s probably not that cold, or when it’s not close to closing. Who knows.
I usually love going to this restaurant, but our waitress (you could tell) did not care about her job. We were sat outside to be waited on by Destiny. Through the time we sat down to when we left, the outside area was empty then became moderately full...so if this was her only area to accomodate it would baffle us more on her lack of care to our table. It was difficult to tell if she was new at this job, but she walked past us several times without checking in, picking up finished plates, asking if everything was okay or if we needed anything, etc. We both waited 20 minutes for our alcoholic beverages to arrive to us, to which we were afraid to finish and see if we ever got a second round with Destiny. She seemed forgetful and uncaring for customer service. The inside area was not that busy for a Thursday night, so we questioned why it was taking forever to get 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 2 alcoholic beverages. If I were to recommend this restaurant, I would recommend they steer clear of Destiny's section. When we requested the check and the corrected roll (since we had a wrong one), it took another 10-12 minutes for her to arrive. We wanted to leave ASAP, so she came back and handed us the check, i pushed to give her the card but she had to run off to get the machine. This dinner could have been nicely done in 30-40 minutes if we did not have to wait for Destiny to pick up the slack.
Great experience and great food. The best is the crazy monkey roll
