Amazing food, best sangria I ever had welcoming stuff very nice decoration btw you must try the flavored margaritas
We were eager to try this place, as we love tapas and wine. Unfortunately, the house wine was awful, it tasted like something my husband's uncle does in his basement and stores in plastic jugs, and then calls it wine. It was rancid just like that. The tapas were ridiculously expensive for what you got. $14.00 for bites size croquettes? The bright side was that the paste in the inside was very tasty. They brought us bread, but no olive oil to dip it in?? This is a travesty, how are you not being offered extra virgin olive oil with it in a Spanish restaurant?? Whatever! My husband wanted the pulpo, but was like, $20 for a pulpo tapas seems like too much. So I suggested he have the entree with a side for $26 to justify the price. He opted for that and had the sautéed vegetables. For some reason, they gave him the vegetables, octopus and mashed potatoes. He said the octopus was okay, but the best part of the meal was the mashed potatoes. I asked for the salmon with vegetables, and I got a very crispy, overcooked and dry piece of fish. The vegetables, were super gross. The broccoli was overcooked and soggy, and they put these onions thinly sliced and peppers that were soggy oily and didn't taste like anything. I don't get what they were going for with the sautéed vegetables. It almost like they threw a bunch of left over veggies you use for your cooking base and added it the overcooked broccoli. Overall, I don't think we would go back.
My coworkers and I went to Casa España for lunch and it didn't disappoint! The food was fantastic and the service was great. We liked everything we tried but our favorites were the oxtail croquettes and the meatballs. The meatballs were very tender and pretty big which was idea for sharing. The garbanzo beans had really great flavor and we ended up dipping our bread in the sauce. They described them as fried but they aren't crunchy and feel more like they had been stewed in sauce, which I prefer! Three of us split 5 different appetizers/tapas and it was plenty of food. We also split a pitcher of white sangria which was very tasty but was sweet like juice and didn't have much of a wine taste. A bit more on the pricey side but worth it!
I really enjoyed eating here. Our server was excellent. She gave just the right amount of attention and was so pleasant. This is a fairly small restaurant but it does have a bit of feeling like dining in Spain. We ordered the paella. It was very good. I cannot say it is just like eating it in Barcelona, but this one is so good. Served piping hot and it was much more than enough for 2 people. I forgot to take a picture. Several people ordered sangria nearby and they loved it. I am not a Sangria person but everyone else was happy with it. I did not even look at the menu because my mind was on the paella and that was all I was going to order. This is a cozy restaurant and very nice for a date night.
