Mb Roland Distillery - Pembroke

Small and very friendly staff. This distillery tucked in a very beautiful Kentucky country side. We got good amount of souvenirs to bring home to Texas. Thank you for the hospitality.

This part of Kentucky is new to the Bourbon Trail and I can't recommend a stop at MB Rolland enough. I was fortunate to end up with Jonathon as our tour guide and he did a splendid job guiding us through the bourbon creation process at MB Rolland. Between him and Red the cat you'll be in good hands should you choose to stop by and I highly recommend that you do. It's a terrific story behind the start of this distillery back in 2009 and they are expanding their process as we speak. In the lower field they have just constructed a brand new 4000 barrel capacity rick house to house their barrels while they age. The old farmhouse has a historical feel to it complete with a couple of rocking chairs for front porch sitting.One the tasting side of things the tour includes 4 communion glasses of liquor of your choice and it's worth starting with their bourbon's as they are each unique and fantastic. After the tour you're well equipped to notice the differences in color, taste and smell thanks to Jonathon and his knowledge. I'm not typically a fruity liquor fan but even the blueberry liquor was terrific. They even have a couple of humidors full of cigars that you can buy. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to enjoy a glass of their product and smoke a cigar on the front porch as we felt the need to run over to Casey Jones (which was not worth the effort).

I had a great time with my parents at the distillery. Olivia, our guide, and the gift shop manager were wonderful, knowledgeable hosts. The outdoor cats made us feel particularly welcome as well. Definitely worth the drive for the bourbon. Try the dark fired bourbon if you get a chance. Neat flavor! We left with 3 bottles. I’ll be back.

We stayed at MB Rowland Distillery through Harvest Host. They were incredibly welcoming. We did a bourbon tasting and could have done a distillery tour. They had us park in their overflow lot for the night. It was peaceful and beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We went on the tour, and it was a great experience! Olivia was fantastic—she was very patient with us and incredibly knowledgeable. Plus, the bourbon is amazing!
