Mayela's - Pecos

Fantastic New Mexican Cuisine! I really enjoyed the Chicharrón Burrito. It had the perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness. The green sauce was flavorful without being overly spicy, and the dipping sauce for the chips was quite hot. Overall, a great experience!

On our way back from the campsite in Pecos, we stopped here for a quick bite, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious— we mostly opted for New Mexican cuisine, but the French fries that accompanied the kids' meals were also fantastic. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and we will likely return if we get the chance. Even though we couldn't enjoy a sit-down meal due to COVID-19, we had a great experience and truly enjoyed our meal.

I stopped by Mayela's restaurant for the first time before heading out on a long hike in the nearby forest, and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a stuffed sopapilla with ground beef and red chile, which was served with an additional sopapilla on the side drizzled with honey. Both dishes were delicious, and I would definitely order them again on my next visit. The service was excellent as well. Cheers to Mayela!

The restaurant found by asking some locals where they eat! It wasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere, great new Mexican cuisine! Large portions were right.
