Once a time, this BBQ restaurant was fantastic. While the customer service has always been lacking, the food used to make up for it. According to their online menu, a Chopped Beef/Brisket Sandwich is priced at $4.75. However, when I placed a phone order for four sandwiches, my total came to $37.89, which breaks down to $8.50 per sandwich. I called to talk to the manager about the price difference, but he had no explanation. When I inquired about when the owner would be available, he said he didn't know. My best advice is to steer clear of this place. The food during my recent visit was disappointing—very bland and just not what it used to be.

I ordered a three-meat combo plate with green beans and coleslaw on the side. The meats included brisket, pork, and sausage. The restaurant was clean, and the service was quick, though it lacked friendliness and warmth. Unfortunately, the brisket was served cold, thin, yet flavorful, and the BBQ sauce was decent. The sausage was good, though it’s hard to go wrong with it. However, the pork was oily and had an overpowering cinnamon flavor that was quite off-putting. The green beans were canned and served cold, and the fat in the dish was coagulated. On a positive note, the coleslaw was good, and the jalapeno bread was passable. Overall, I paid $22 for small portions of meat that were quite ordinary, with an inedible side. I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

The food was fresh and served hot. I ordered two three-meat plates and a chopped barbecue-baked carrot, and everything was absolutely delicious! I accidentally left my credit card there, but realized it the next day. They actually had it safe! Now that’s integrity!

I read some bad reviews about this place, but the food is really good. I served 25 people at Easter and catered with Skeets and everyone loved it-especially their side dishes. Sometimes when I go I order a plate of 5 sides only. It's wonderful food. And yes, I know how good food tastes. I live near 3 Killen's restaurants and eat at them regularly.
