Entry is down what appears to be a back alley with entrance to left and toilets to right. Indoor seating area, and outside area in back yard the latter being the most poular when we visited. While walking through the interior however beware of floor level changes./steps which are not very visible. Staff friendly, but not as efficient as they could be. Menus available in English as well as German but the daily specials are not shown in the English menus. Tomato soup starter was delicious, rick, thick and creamy full of flavour. Mains my seafood pasta was very good, prawns, calamari, mussels in a rich sauce. Other pasta dishes were also enjoyed, the only let down being the pasta in tomato sauce, which was too thick and tasted too much of concentrated tomato. Desserts were very good, particularly the chocolate mousse, 3 quenelles, with sauce and fruit on the side. Had to ask 4 times for the bill before it arrived, but when it did the price was very reasonable.
We visited this restaurant in the southeast corner of passau for lunch. we have not been disappointed. the carpaccio was wonderful, the right balance of the aromen. main dish was a beautiful bark dish with Gorgonzola sauce. the bark was still medium tender. .
We visited this restaurant in the south east corner of Passau for lunch. We were definitely not disappointed. The carpaccio was wonderful, just the right balance of flavors. Main course was a nice beef dish with Gorgonzola sauce. The beef was medium tender yet...quite tasty. Main course two was a pasta Alio et olio. This is despite its simplicity a quite difficult dish to prepare right. But here they got it. The garlic was cooked to perfection. Very well and a nicely balanced dish with perfectly al dente cooked spaghetti. Recommendable restaurant. Italian touch with high quality at a very reasonable price.
We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel and am so glad we went. Absolutely fantastic food, my husband thought his risotto was probably the best he had ever had. I had the spaghetti pomodoro which was also excellent. The staff were super, and though...busy were attentive. We hope to go back.
Driving around Passau one lonely evening, our party stumbled across this restaurant whilst looking for something to eat. It looked decent on the outside, and parking was available, so we decided to go for it. One enters through an alleyway, with a toilet on one...side and a bountiful restaurant on the other. It is initially small in appearances on the inside, and we were led to a table in a dark but empty room being told that they could sit us in this darkness but that the outside was full. The waiter left to find a light for us; when he returned, however, we were told that they had found space for us outside. They had not lied when they said outside was full, we were led to the only table available in an entirely full medium-sized courtyard, and given English menus. Unfortunately, the daily specials were only in German, with Italian titles, and I ordered from the specials with my competent-but-limited German language skills. Seafood appeared to be the specialty in this restaurant's Italian cuisine which is, admittedly, a rarity among restaurants in Germany but this one seemed to pull it off exceptionally. My pasta dish consisted of scallops and tomato sauce, with a fish that I incorrectly translated on the menu as black bass (we later found out it was swordfish) and was very, very good. All other mains were thoroughly enjoyed, in various pasta forms from other Frutti di Mare variants all the way to vegetable and red meats. We did not initially intend to order dessert, but since we had enjoyed the previous two courses so much and the price was good we decided to stay for a sweet. The chocolate mousse similarly did not disappoint. Drinks were similarly very good. I sampled three of the wines whilst there, and all were excellent. The only thing that lets this restaurant down: once they have served you all the food that they think you will eat, they seem to forget about you. You will not order any more food after three courses; so it does not matter, in their eyes apparently, how long it takes to receive the bill. We waited over twenty minuets after first asking, with several more asks during the process. The goodbye was friendly, and with accompanying complimentary sweets which were appreciated, but the wait for the bill definitely unnecessary despite how good the food was and as a result I cannot leave this restaurant a five star rating.
