I had lunch at Kimono Ken Shang the other day and ordered the staple salmon sashimi with gyoza and chicken terriyaki. The salmon was tender and smooth but it was clearly still a little frozen, the gyoza was cooked well, with a crunchy outer covering which conceals the rich ground stuffing inside, the chicken teriyaki was a little bit of a let down as it didnt have that smoky character enveloped with the sweet teriyaki sauce. Overall Kimono Ken isa little bit of a mixed bag for me.
Good quality sushi, salads, and gyozas. Better ramen can be found elsewhere. Staff are nice and attentive. Ambience is not so great in the lower ground floor of the mall. Often times there's an unpleasant sweaty locker room smell.
We were craving for Japanese one Sunday morning when we bumped into this place. I ordered Niku Udon and my boyfriend ordered Negi Ramen. My udon is quite good. The broth on his ramen was tasty but the noodles are overpowered with leeks. I like leeks but it's just off when it's too much. The ramen and leeks are on equal portion. Im not sure that's how their Negi Ramen is usually done. Place is okay though.
They love the gyudon and gyoza. inexpensive is the place for a Japanese restaurant. only here we can get the futomaki and it's so good. also they can easily get the table here.
