No kids menu or kid sized meals so had to get enormous piles of food that no adult could reasonably eat. Would have lived with it if the food was good but it was awful- salty and greasy with super sweet pancakes and waffles. Sevice was ordinary and restaraunt had too many small booths/tables squahed in to sit comfortably. Air con overly cold. Will not be going back.
Checking out at Denny's at Uptown Mall. Place was full with Sunday morning crowd.Had the clam chowder, lumberjack slam and minty orange lemonade. Overall the food quality is average (taste and price) but the table service by the staff, Yan was impeccable. She was so cheerful and attentive. If ever your morning is gloomy, go dine at Denny's Uptown and let the food whett your hunger and Yan brighten up the rest of your day.
My husband frequent Dennys in Toronto, Canada so when he saw one here he had to check it out. The food was really fresh and cooked well. The price was comparable, it wasn't cheaper which one might expect given its the Philippines. For a party of 5, we spent about $75 or 2800 pesos. We loved the French Toast and peanut butter pancakes. We also ordered a Filipino breakfast which was also good. I recommend the freshly SQUEEZE Orange Juice. We did wait a while for our food, I and I ended cancelling one of them as we got full from the meal that had arrived.
I have always wanted to try diner style food. American media always pictured it as greasy but tasty. So I ordered a bacon cheeseburger (seemed like the most American in the menu right?) and pork chop with eggs and rice. The cheese burger had really crispy and tasty bacon but a little too thin and there were only 2 strips. As I bit imto the burger, I couldn't help but feel there was something missing. Don't get me wrong, the burger was meaty and tasty. The patty was "falling apart" which meant there were no extenders or fillers. But there wasn't any crusting which would have been nice. The porkchop and rice was better though. The spice for the meat was a simple salt and pepper which complimented the sweetness and tenderness. The rice was well made and infused with garlic. The scrambled egg was nice and fluffy. We also order mozzarella sticks. Nicley fried but lacking in any creative flavor. All in all, it is a great place to get food in the middle of the night. There aren't that many restos open 24 hours.
We have tried Denny's in the US and it wasn't really impressive...We tried the one in Uptown Mall and we were not too happy with our dining experience. There were winner items and there were disappointing ones too..Nachos and fried mozzarella were good appetizers and we thought that dinner would be promising. The Filipino tapa breakfast was okay. A niece said the porkchops were yummy. The pancakes were American style - huge, round, but the batter is almost like bread! We expected a fluffy and light one. The hash browns were not the usual ones. They looked more like fritters. Bacon was crispy and delightful. The Chicken philly steak sandwich was yummy. Though it seemed that it still needed more filling to it. Perhaps more chicken and vegetables. Sandwiches like this are usually bursting with ingredients. The Cheeseburger we ordered took forever to serve! Almost everyone at the dinner table was done with their food till after numerous follow-ups that the cheeseburger arrived. Size was huge too! Be ready to pay an average of P600 per head when you dine here.Best to come when no one else is here. When the restaurant gets full, service and kitchen suffer.
