Fat Cactus Parsippany

The food was good. service was excellent. queso chips and salsa were excellent. enchiladas were just good. I didn't enjoy the ice cream white chocolate dessert.

The fat cactus is terrible. eating is really terrible. we gave it a try to lunch because we read several 5 star reviews. I have no idea what these critics thought, but can only imagine that they were paid for writing these cripples. the meal began with free chips and salsa. the chips were good. they came warm, which is beautiful. the salsa was very watery, but had fresh zilantro and chopped wobble, which there was a little taste. we ordered 2 margaritas. they were syrup and excessively sweet with little to no alcohol in them. they came in sweet glasses with cactus stem. we ordered a black chicken fajita and the black bell tacos. both came with rice, which was literally gum-like. the tacos came with yuca frita (fries,) which were clearly frozen and not cooked by, when served me. the tacos had a shiny one that was so dry/dehydrated that I thought when I had a bite there was a floor in my taco. it turned out, it was a dreadfully dry piece of crushed carrots. even the lime wedges were dry! I have no idea what they have done with the pork belly, but my guess is that it was frozen meat that they got into a frit to heat through because it tasted as fat as it means. the tortillas for the fajita and the tacos were so tender. the fajita came with watery, tasteless black beans. the side of the guacamole that came with the fajita was acidic tasting. I can only assume that it was a prefabricated guacamole with a type of preservative that we have tasted. there were some damp chicken pieces in the fajita, but most were dry and the darkened spice had no taste at all. this restaurant was a great disappointment and we will certainly not return.

Eating was great and service was excellent. the ambiente makes fun and the music was a great note. drinks were amazing and we will be back!

Our experience at fat catus was wonderful. we were thrilled by the authentic Mexican taste. the prices are definitiv at the higher end, but the plates are large. for example is a side of fries about 5 dollar and the portions are very large. the service was attentive and eating came out quite quickly. there are limited alcohol-free drinks options, but the ones they have very good. would recommend it 100% and look forward to return.

Food was delicious! Loved the decor and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
