Golden Griddle - Parry Sound

Beautiful little hotel. Friendly staff, nice comfortable rooms. Lovely area with fitness centre, two pools, mini golf, squash courts, sauna. Lovely courtyard to sit and enjoy the peace of nature. Overall, would definitely stay here again.

Price of room doubled from our stay last year. Upon arrived no one at desk, no one in bar/restaurant. Sign with phone number on desk. 3 phone calls later, no answer. Walk into restaurant, no one there tables covered in dirty dishes and food. 4 guys sitting on patio drinking beer, turn out to be staff. I approach them, they jump up to assist. Bartender comes to check us in. Go to room, keys don't work so go back and try again. Settle into room. Go to eat, tables still covered with dishes and food. Eat, 1 hour later, still no clean up of used tables(disgusting). Back to room, front desk guy joy riding around property on a quad. Garbage all over parking lot. Very disappointing The place has a ton of potential.

To start off I will give credit to the establishment for their meals. The food was really good. Large portions and great value for the price. NOW, let talk about the cost of staying here. Last year I took a group up for a golf trip, we stayed at the Jolly Roger Inn. Manager was great. The cost around $90 a night. We could live with that because all we were doing was basically sleeping there. No pool available. Sketchy people actually living there. This year I called up to book again, the same room jumped to $247. Stay far away from here for that price. When I asked why such a jump. Response back "because the pandemic is over. Meaning Now we will charge a stupid amount to get all the money we lost. Reading reviews from more recently the pool is still closed after a year.

The staff were very courteous. The prices were fair, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The court yard view from the window gives you an outdoors feeling while enjoying your free wifi.

Had to pull in here Christmas eve the roads were a mess no visibility the front staff was awesome the snow crew led by Avery were fantastic they just kept going we felt safe and comfortable ,I just wish the restaurant was as good as the rest of the hotel ,well I guess u can't have everything
