Beautiful pasticceria, one of the oldest and last surviving. They have a great selection of cakes and chocolates on display, incl the Duchess Cake made in honour of their much loved Duchess of Parma (Napoleon's ex-wife). Don't leave Parma without trying this! There is also a small cafe right at the back that does excellent coffee.
Friendly staff assists you as to what the different chocolate confections are. We chose a box of assorted beautifully crafted chocolates that looked so good we did not want to eat them! Nicely packaged. Not a huge store so you will get very nice attention.
One can easily miss this cafe-Patissierie with its tiny shop front, but it has wonderful little pastry/cakes that should not be missed. One can choose to have a quick bite at the bar or a leisurely stop at the tables inside. For the hungry there are also sandwiches of various sizes.
A pleasant cafe in the city center has all the attributes for high praise. Pros: The guy behind the bar makes great cappuccinos and the staff is very polite. Homemade cakes and pastries are of highest quality, but... Cons: when leaving the pasticceria, you pay the bill at the cashier, who keeps the bills for each table. The girl charged me for 11,80 EUR and gave me the invoice. We already wanted to leave, when I double-checked the account. We drank two cappuccinos and ate a small biscuit, and 12 EUR was far too much. I refused the payment and after a brief explaining and with some help from the guy behind the bar, who remembered our order, we finally got our money back. But, a new invoice for the amount I paid, the cashier girl didn't want to to make, saying that she could not make two accounts for the same customer. Apparently she haven't heard of the cancellation yet...
