Raj on Taj Unley - Parkside

As the title says that eating is great, but the restaurant is simply too small for the number of people trapped in it. we had to move the people waiting for their take to sit in our seats. the strange thing is that the load next door is also marked as taj on raj, but he was empty.

I've eaten at Raj on Taj a number of times and have enjoyed their food. Tonight I ordered takeaway and was most disappointed. My Aloo Gohbi was in a small container and what should have been cauliflower and potatoes was actually cauliflower with ONE small...piece of potatoe and what appeared to be packet frozen vegetables consisting of peas, carrots, corn and beans. Seriously? My naan bread was half it's normal size with a hole in it and somewhat crispy and burnt. I know times are tough with Covid19 and all... but don't charge normal prices and provide smaller serves and ones without ingredients, particularly when people are trying to support your business. You've lost my support.

Went here for lunch, it being a while since we've had Indian food and this place being nearby. This is our second visit, the first having been for dinner sufficiently long ago that we had initially forgotten about our previous experience here. The restaurant is...very small inside, with several tables for two, and 2 3 tables for 4 6 people. The tables for two run along one wall, directly alongside the route trafficked by customers entering and approaching the counter including to place takeaway orders. It was much quieter than our previous visit pre Covid , which I quickly recollected had been marred by a constant stream of people passing us to collect take away orders. Also, if sitting inside, the open to view kitchen area is only a couple of metres away, and the constant and loud chatter of the cooks and the waitress who joins them behind the counter when not serving can also be distracting. What we also noticed on this latest occasion is how grubby the restaurant appears, as a whole. The glass of the front door is grimy, the walls look grimy and grease stained in places, and our laminated menu cards were stained by patches of grease and grime adhering to the plastic. Nonetheless, being hungry and having already missed out on lunch that day at Bombay Vintage which was supposed to have been open, but was closed and dark inside we pressed on with ordering, but then moved to an outside table, our move being in part prompted by the ongoing coughing of one of the cooks ... none of the staff were wearing masks. Anyway ... the weather outside was quite pleasant and the food, which came very quickly, was hot and in good quantity, and fully satisfied our immediate craving for an Indian meal. Not sure we will ever go back again though ... at least a good average with regard to the food, but far from anything special in all other respects.

We had dinner last night and it was delightfulStaff were very attentive and helpful.

I really love giving 5 star reviews and seldom often do I get to give them, last night I had a meal that truly deserved it.
