We went on line to check the menu before we went and it was totally different than the one they have. We waited for over an hour and 15 minutes from arriving until our food arrived. They kept coming by and apologizing for the delay. Never told us why. The food finally arrived. We split a ribeye steak ordered medium rare. It arrived rare. I decided not to send my half back. My wife sent hers back to be cooked a little longer. This process took 15 minutes. By the time it arrived my meal was cold and my wife's meal was not medium rare but too dry to enjoy. She ended up eating her mashed potatoes that seemed like they were premade from a box and her green beans and left the steak. They clearly did not know how to run a restaurant. We left a 25% tip for the wait staff because we felt that it wasn't their fault. We will not be going back.
Comfortable setting, great views, friendly staff, and good food. Will be back.!
We used to frequent Trappers when it was a the chop house; it has since changed to bar and grill. We were surprised that the menu had changed but happy to see the volcano stone was still part of the menu. We were the only table in a Tuesday night which had us worried a bit. However, everything was wonderful! We both enjoyed the filet mignon and sides. The service was amazing. The wine prices were crazy good for a restaurant! We were hoping for more menu options like Trappers used to have but hopeful that the new management will get it back to the level it used to be.
We stayed at the hotel and the first night after flying in from East Coast we decided to try Trappers. Poor decision. We should have walked next door to a different restaurant. The nachos looked like my 10yr old made them at home and had maybe 12 chips. My burger, ordered med well, came out medium rare. Chicken sandwiches were dry. Chicken fingers looked like they hadn’t been cooked long enough and came out cold. No sauce, no condiments. When we asked for them it was another 10min wait. The service was atrocious.Fast forward and we realized on the second morning that our breakfast coupons were for Trappers. Entirely different staff so we were cautiously optimistic but somehow it was even worse. Servers were no where to be found, they were out of supplies and could not make several basic items and it took 45min for food to come out and when it did, we did not have cutlery and we’re still waiting on coffee refills from the first. There are several other restaurants in the area within walking distance. I highly recommend if staying at this hotel to try any number of them and to avoid Trappers altogether.
This locale is ideal and perfect for all occasions; Intimate settings, events, business meetings.I attended on a Thursday evening with 2 associates at 7 Pm on February 8th, 2024.The restaurant was not busy at all; Lots of places to choose to sit; We chose the Mountain View in the corner booth.I asked the waiter to turn down the music in the speaker over head, he lowered it right away.Food at this locale has always been above par andover-exceeded any expectations I might have had.I 've visited this locale on 2 occasions, the first was 6 years ago and I was excited to visit again. My associates were highly impressed and remarked that the occasion will be unforgettable. The restaurant is a Family Owned and Operated Establishment, and have managed the restaurant for about 1 year.Currently they do not provide Military Discounts.Mashed Potatoes; were AMAZING, and went well with the glaze given for the Filet Bites,The Filet Bites; you cook to your desired temperature upon the heated Lava Rock; the rock was still hot enough to cook meat an hour later. The glaze; the sauce is really good, blends well on the tongue.Another sauce, basil and something was nice, really nice, yet it just wasn 't one of my favorite tastes.Shrimp Cocktail; are the Jumbo Shrimps served with a very nice cocktail sauce blend.Filet Steak Mignon; 8 oz., comes in bite size pieces, 16 oz. comes as a whole piece, I requested to chop into small bites.Steak Quesadillas; I was still munching on the next day are a big hit, a must try; seasoned very well.Ceaser Salad; The dressing was nice, on the light side, would have been nice if it was thicker and creamier, I added more dressing and it was the right amount. i wish I would have ordered the grilled chicken with it.The 'Secret Sweet Sour Meat Balls ';ARE TO DIE FORI ordered 2 orders and it wasn 't enough. The sauce pairs really well with the Filet Mignon Bites as well.I have yet to try the Molten Lava Cakes will be made from scratch, Hint Hint.I 'm not big on Chicken Wings, yet the sauces served with them peak my interest. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement on the entire experience: When I first visited, more sauce choices were served with the steak and i was slightly disappointed. The restaurant may be busy at times, you might want to call ahead for Priority Seating.Overall Experience: I would rate this restaurant as a 6 tier Restaurant on Denver 's Top 10 restaurant eateries.
